Sort with more than three keys

I have need to sort text on five keys. Now I can use Supersort (16-bit MSDOS program) in Windows 7 64-bit XP Mode; or use Textpad by rearranging columns, sorting, and then disarranging columns. Both methods are inconvenient. Edit: I found a solution using CMsort, which is a 32-bit command-line sort ...

I think I solved this. I had desktop and start-menu shortcuts to the Windows 7 system drive instead of the virtual XP Mode system drive. Deleting the shortcuts, copying the setup file to the XP Mode system drive, and installing Textpad from there seems to have fixed the problem.

Copying huge blocks

How large a block should be copyable? While editing a large file (about 950K lines) using columnar block mode in Textpad and insert mode in the computer, I could not copy blocks (about the left-hand half of the lines) larger than about 350K to 400K lines. I worked around it by dividing the file into ...

Add numbers in selected text

I would like to be able to add numbers in selected text (subtract negative numbers) to get a sum. WordStar is the only editor or word processor that I know which does this. Word does it only for numbers in tables. It is especially useful for numbers in columns, which would be Block Select Mode for ...
