I also made a reply to the post "Is TextPad dead?" and it was also deleted. I did not mention PSPad so I gather a third or even a fourth post was also deleted since I seem to remember posting twice in the thread mentioned above. Mentioning other tools here is not new and has been done at least ...

I give up. I'll put in a request to Helios. And I don't use Posix because it's taken me long enough just to assemble the few examples for Regular Expressions I've been able to get working and the only way to use Posix is by permanently changing my preferences which I'm not going to do . No, don't ...

See TP's help file under "Regular Expressions Examples" where you will find "Alternation Operator" explained, short but still ok. But if you're looking for an exclusive or by bolding your either I'm stumped. ;)

If TP came preinstalled with your OS you still should be able to uninstall it via Control Panels Add or Remove Programs function. You could also take a look at Configure->Preferences->Tools, click Add and select "Java SDK Commands". See TP's help file under "How to Customize the Tools Menu". HTH

Just a wild guess, but could NS8 come with it's own Java? If so, perhaps uninstalling that, reinstalling Java and then TP would do the trick. Just my .02usd.

Take a quick look at the TP Java FAQ over here . Should that not do it for you, look for a diffrent tool, learning Java is a worth wile task but if the tool is stopping you, look for a diffrent one. As for learning Java I would reccomend that you google for Java related forums as these are TP ...
