Can't open files using drag-n-drop running TextPad as admin

I think I have found a bug in TextPad 6.2.2. When I launch TextPad as administrator under Windows 7 (Ultimate 32 bit) I can't open files by dragging them onto the TextPad chrome. The major part of the application windows indicates that it's not even a drop target by using that "crossed circle" mouse ...

Re: Textpad Kickstarter

I think you're splitting semantic hairs. I'm sorry. I just used your comment as a springboard to leap into another discussion entirely. No offense taken, I hope. I would come back to the point I keep making on this issue. As users we don't have a right to future updates. If the application ...

Re: And to answer the question ...

... yes. TP6 is out. So I've noticed - although I can't say I'm jumping up and down from excitement. While the new portability feature is appreciated there are still so many elementary/basic features we are still waiting for. The OP asked if TextPad is still being developed and obviously it is. But ...

Is it too much to ask for an updated delivery estimate for the next release of Textpad Yep. Welcome to the TP world. It's a wonder we all stick around, really. Ha ha! My sentiment exactly. About once every year I get frustrated with TP and decide I need to find a new favorite editor. I start ...

I just got the PM too. I immediately went here to post a warning but you beat me to it. I'm just hoping Textpad users are not stupid enough to actually download and install a Trojan like this. But as a precaution I agree with you - that it would be best if a real admin could delete the messages.

Re: When is a new version of Textpad being released?

What are these incompatibilities? Is this official? I was just about to acquire a second TextPad license for my new Windows 7 computer, but if there are compatibility issues I'll look around for another editor. I "know" TextPad is just some kind of spare time project, and us loyal users are used to ...

There are other text editors that will let you do that. At least one. It lets you define your own syntax coloring schemes using regular expressions. I assume I cannot tell you which text editor here on the forum without breaking the rules, but let's just say that the feature is "Just Great"...

Add my vote too. Some other editors (won't mention any) have the option of running them in portability mode, which means (for one thing) that nothing is written to the registry. All settings are stored in one ini-file. Reinstalling Textpad after a fresh Windows reinstall is a PAIN. All options and ...

Re: Something I thought I would never do!

Helios software developers - I'm sorry and I hope you take this in the positive way it is meant. I have been a TextPad daily user (countless lines of HTML, CSS and Python) for nearly ten years. TextPad (and Pretty Good Solitaire) was one of the only reasons I have not made a total switch from ...

I think it all boils down to poor communication. It's also poor communication to call it Textpad 5.0. It should have been called Textpad 5.0 Beta or Textpad 5.0 RC1.

I think great communication is the key to a great relationship. Poor communication makes for a poor relationship. In this thread I have tried to express how anticipated Textpad 5 was and how expectations were elevated day by day during the long, long wait. And we have seen how many (me included ...

Okay, now I'm confused... This should work: Search for: [\x80-\xFF] Replace with: (nothing) [ X ] Regular expression But it doesn't. However, this works (though it really shouldn't!): Search for: [^\x80-\xFF] Replace with: (nothing) [ X ] Regular expression This third solution is however (edit ...
