I never installed 8.13 after 8.12, and the problem appeared in 8.14. The reason for that is probably because it isn't the same problem you have linked to.

I've sent in a bug report which has been noted. I'm repeating it here in case anyone else finds this useful: Either 8.13.0 or 8.14.0 has changed current line highlighting so that the highlight obliterates underscores, making it very hard to actually edit something containing underscores - like many ...
