Binary mode not displaying all characters
Using TextPad 8.1.2 (64-bit Edition). I have a file which is... approximately Windows-1252 encoded (the correct encoding isn't important for this issue). Opening the file in Binary mode to display what's really there, I see: D0: 69 63 65 22 20 22 22 48 61 76 6C ED 9F 6B E0 76 20 ice" "Havl...

Many people find using the keyboard much quicker and more convenient than the mouse. Find In Files is easy to use with the keyboard right up until you hit the folder browse button. Type in the first part of a folder name, then tab to Browse and hit space. Browse For Folder opens - but you can't use ...

First time - EVER!
I've must have been using TextPad for at least 15 years. Today, for the first time ever - it crashed! TextPad 8.0.2, Windows 10. Selected "Open with TextPad" from Windows Explorer file right-click menu, and the program locked: no error messages, won't accept any form of input, using ~55% C...

How do you do that in TextPad 7? Is ANSI the same as ASCII? The choices I have are ANSI, DOS, UTF-8, UTF-16 and UTF-16BE. Technically, no. ASCII refers to the 7-bit character set containing printable characters 32 [space] to 126 [tilde]. ANSI commonly refers to an 8-bit character set such as Window...

Bug report: Find in Files checks binary files
Running "Find in Files" with the "Binary files" tickbox turned off still seems to check binary files: I get warnings about "line too long" from .dll and .exe files.
