One more update ... the file (i.e. config.xml) doesn't matter as long as there is the .\5.0 folder.

Okay ... I stand corrected. The "culprit" is config.xml located in C:\Documents and Settings\<USER />\Application Data\Helios\TextPad\5.0. That is also where the *.tws are typically stored.

I have noticed this too when installed on a clean machine without a prior installation of TextPad 5.x. I had some (as it turns out) related problems too with workspaces from TextPad 5.x where the path to text.syn was hard-coded to C:\Program Files\TextPad 5\system. So I re-created the C:\Program ...
