ak47wong, Thanks for that. Now I can't for the life of me remember how I got to where I got that showed "StayOnTop" as an option with no check box! I now wish I'd taken a screen shot of it. It's all so obvious now, why was my head so blind before? I'll blame it in my age ;-) Ha, found it! Look at ...

Oops, quick draw gets me again
It turns out that Alt-Space then LOOK at the drop down and select T works just fine, but Alt-Space-T does NOT - go figure, bad instructions to myself on my part.

Stay On Top A Problem Again!!!! HELP!!!!
Today 9/29/21 I noticed I can NOT get Textpad back to NOT being on top. I've tried both: 1. TextPad 7.6.2 This no longer works with using: Alt-Space-T. This no longer shows a tool to turn on/off stay on top. 2. Even going to: Configure | Preferences | Keyboard | Categories: View | Commands ...

Right You Are!
Thanks Ben, I did that & then closed TextPad & opened it again & then *.* was the default. I remember tripping over something that caused *.* to be my default but couldn't remember what it had been. I fall into the trap of only closing the laptop & never ever exiting TextPad so I must have changed ...

Open File(s)
Ben, thanks for your response. When I try to open a file, I know I can select "All Files *.*" but I want that to be the default in that drop down. The present DEFAULT file list is always based on, "Text File *.txt" which, when I'm looking for *.cmd or *.bat, or some other text type file without a ...

Change Default to always list all files
I want to see ALL files in the folder when I click on File / Open. At present when I'm in a TXT file it only lists the *.txt files. How do I change this to default to showing all files in the present folder?

Thank-you AmigoJack
Thank-you AmigoJack,
Now I understand what is happening. The person who originally gave me the keys to press did not explain it. Your explanation makes it all clear and it make sense now.
Thanks again!

It works for me
All I can say is that, it works for me [/b]. I press them like this: Alt & hold it down, Space and hold it down as well, so ALT & SPACE are being held down and then I press "T" and then Textpad is either on top or not, depending on what it was before I pressed all three at the same time. You can say ...

Thanks
Thanks much Ben, I'll have to watch my fat fingers to see if I ever get close to the Alt-key when I'm pressing the space key, then I'll have to see if I'm trying to type a T as well shortly after & it all comes together at the same time. Not impossible but sure doesn't seem likely either. Now, I ...

Stay on top of other windows
Stay on top of other windows Configure/View/ [x] Stay on top of other windows What is the key combo that turns this on/off? I am ALWAYS accidentally turning it on while I'm typing. This should be a two-hand combination not one I can trip over almost every time I type, granted I have fat fingers but ...
