I am the original poster of this topic. The easiest solution is to junk TextPad and move on to something better, possibly ****. As a registered user of TP for many years, I must say I am upset at the attitude at Helios.

From the Start menu choose: 1. Control panel 2. Add or Remove Programs 3. Select TextPad 4. Click on Remove I guess you did not understand what I was saying in my last post. I attempted the add/remove thing at your suggestion and it errored out with exactly the same messages that I have in the orig...

Cannot install Ver 5
I just discovered that there was a new version of TP. I have been running 4.7.2 for quite some time. I downloaded the 5.0 distro and tried to install it with no luck. :( Here are the error messages: First message: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable Comment...

Handling same file extension in different document classes
I am using a freeby PCB (Printed Circuit Board) editor PCB123. TO add new parts to the parts libraries it is required that the user create a text file with the extension .LIB :? This is not a wise choice on the part of PCB123's creators. My TextPad already has the .LIB included in the Binary documen...

MudGuard; I did all that you suggested with no results. I have been trying things to try and solve the problem. The file type I want to edit is set to *.asm and in this file type the comments are denoted by the semicolon (;) all that follows one is a comment. I set the comment color to red and check...

Syntax coloring
I am using PICmicroASM.syn as the syntax file and I have it in the USER folder where my other .syn files are stored. I am using TP 4.7.2 and have been a user for quite a few years. I am unable to get the systax coloring to work even though I have enabled that in the preferences. I also have a .syn f...

Printing WYSIWYG
O.K. I give up. I have been struggling to configure my preferences in order to insure that what I see on the screen is what gets printed on my HP inkjet printer. If I confine a line of characters to less than column 80 (perhaps 77) on the screen and then print the file I get word wrap. I want all 77...
