When saving my document I get a warning that the file "Contains characters that do not exist in Code page 1252, ANSI Latin 1"

How do I fix this?

I have, I believe the default file format set to UTF-8, but I still need to use "Save As" and then select UTF-8. Is there a way to make that the default?

How can/do I do that, because I need the special characters?

Where do I set and/or change the default save location?

I often get errors in TextPad about special characters. Is it UTF-8 I want so that the characters will work? I'm not inputting them but the errors show up when saving.

I don't need special characters (at least not now) so how do I "turn them off" or avoid them?

Is there such an option in Textpad?

Answer: I found it... ^Q W

I went through and set color changes, and did it the the "Default" class. But when I restart TextPad, or start a new document, the colors are still showing in default settings.

Do I need to set each class separately to make them "apply" if I want them as "default"? Isn't there a way to even copy ...

OK, just seemed like a useful tool is all.

I certainly might be missing something, but I cannot find how to have a ruler bar visible.

I got it -- for the most part.

What I cannot seem to get the Styles to do is the give me then a light background with black text for the current line -- a reverse of the white text on black but with a pale-colored background.

It just doesn't seem to want to do that.

OK, I am admittedly a bit slow, nonetheless...

I went through and set up my "Dark theme" having not found any already configured.

How do I apply this to see if I even like it after a while of usage?
