I had this problem to. The easiest way I found (and it will reset Textpad's orientation and settings) is to go to...

C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Helios\TextPad\5.0
C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Helios\TextPad\6

and delete the files in those directories. Make sure textpad is closed ...
