I just purchased a DELL Windows 8 PC. I installed Textpad 7.10 and set it to replace notepad. I can't open a Textpad file on the desktop by tapping on it. When I tap on the file it always asks me if I want to create the file c:\users\myname, not the name of the file. I can open it using 'Open with'....

I too had a problem with Textpad being slow to open. I discovered 2 things. First it appears that files that have Textpad as their default application open fast. Secondly if you put TextPad on the Send To list then right click on the file, go to Send To and select Textpad the the file opens fast. Yo...
