Error: The procedure entry point IsThreadDesktopComposited

If you get the following error when you open TextPad, then please see the URL below for more information:

The procedure entry point IsThreadDesktopComposited could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.DLL.

The problem was caused by the presence of the file DWMAPI.DLL which was installed with IE7(possibly a beta version). After reverting back to IE6 and renaming the file, the error went away.
