How important is it to you, to have this feature implemented into future versions of TextPad?

Important, even if the size/efficiency of TextPad increases/degrades

The context windows are already big enough... plus Textpad is already there under "Open with..."

Maybe I should elaborate ....

Not within TextPad, but while browsing files with Windows Explorer, you can right click the file and select TextPad to open the file with TP instead of its default application. It won't make the context menu any bigger, as there is already space for an icon to the left of the menu items. Having the TP icon there would make it easier to locate as the context menu changes depending on the type of file you are right clicking on. It could be easily implemented, would not take up any more space on the context menu and would not adversely affect performance. :D

You are saying the ICON needs to appear beside the Textpad item on the right-click menu, right?

I'd vote for that, as long as it doesn't impact getting other, more useful, features implemented.

I know what you mean.

The context menu currently looks like this:

The proposed context menu would look like this:

Yes codebase, exactly what I mean! It's gotta be a piece of cake to implement. I suspect that it could be done with a simple registry change, but I wouldn't know how. Someone want to come up with the necessary .reg file?
