Tab switching (ALT+TAB) doesn't work

Post by manualph »

Textpad Version:5.4.2
OS : XP SP3

If i have a textpad window opened, i won't be able to Switch Tabs using ALT+TAB. I'll have to manually minimize the textpad window using mouse. This can be very annoying at times.

I tried reinstalling textpad. But, the problem persists.

Has anyone faced a similair issue?

Should you not be using "CTRL + TAB" to move between tabs? I have my editor preference set to "Microsoft Application" keystroke compatability.

Robin,
I was not referring to Tabs opened within Textpad. I was referring to other WINDOWS apps which are opened . If i have a textpad window opened, then i won't be able to ALT+TAB to other opened apps in the OS

Well, you did say "Switch Tabs".

Anyway, right-click the TextPad button on the taskbar and check if you've inadvertently turned on Stay on Top.

Thanks for the clue Wong.
In Textpad's preferences > View
I unchecked 'Stay on Top of other Windows'.

I don't remember checking this box though. Anyway its fixed now.

Thanks everyone.
