Run Tool on Selection Only

I'm sure this might not fit with all languages, but it would be nice to be able to highlight a section of code (maybe one routine or block) and run it with a selected Tool to view the results. Rather than running the tool against the entire file, just run it against what is selected.

TextPad Tool Settings for running KiXtart

Does anyone have a link or tip or something to help configure a Tool in TextPad for running .kix files with Kix32.exe? I've tried using the default wizard settings like I do with Cscript.exe, but it doesn't seem to capture the output in the Tool Output window. I checked the option to capture ouput.

Ok, I've tested this on five separate Windows 7 clients on different hardware. The same thing happens on all of them. It would appear that the file-open dialog API has changed behavior regarding apps. I'm just making a guess obviously.

Problem with Windows 7

I know this is a bit early, but with the current public beta of Windows 7, TextPad 5 seems to no longer respect the setting "Working folder follows active document". It just returns to the folder of the first-opened file in the editor each time you open another file. I've tested this on tw...

Syntax Coloring Problems

I'm using the php-js-css-html.syn for my PHP doc class. I removed .PHP from the HTML class prior. The PHP class is configured to set 5 unique foreground colors to each of the Keyword groups. Yet only 1-3 are colored. 4 and 5 are left black. Is this a known issue? I have tried this on several compute...

Nevermind. After repeated tries, I think this is actually being caused by a different application. Sorry to bother everyone.

Bug on exit of TP 5.03?

On my XP/SP2 desktop, I'm getting a constant error when I exit TP after working in it for a few hours. The error is a message box asking if I want to launch the Visual Studio Debugger. Is this known? Can someone point me to some information on what I can do to stop this?

Resizable Snippet Forms

How about making the code snippet edit forms resizable so you can see your code without it being forcibly wrapped?

5.0.2 better, but still unfinished

Still fails to import my v4 syntax and snippet files. It displays an error when I save files that refer to syntax files which are still named in the preferences menu. I had to go cut/paste them from the old path location to the new and then everything works fine. I'd still prefer to have the search ...

Beta Test - Please

I know this has already been posted in various threads, but I felt it ought to be posted as its own topic. Helios: Please, at least consider supporting a public beta program for any future upgrades? Even KixTart conducts lengthy public beta trials, and their stuff is free. Microsoft, Adobe, Apple, A...

After waiting in the dark for almost 3 years, this is a bit shameful. I really like TP but I don't know what to think of this. I would have rather seen a "public beta" available to work out these issues before it was posted as a final release. I've tried the upgrade on three computers to s...

Well. It seems obvious that some are happy with _no_ change, while others are not. I'd like to see a new version, or at least another update/patch, to offer some new features. Performance has always been fine, but writing code (which is what most TP users do with it) involves features more than perf...

I could see that feature being added as an option under Preferences. The default would be "Retain unavailable files in recent files list" or something. Makes sense. I deal with that all the time as well.

It might help to sooth everyone's feelings if Helios would at least give us a rough time frame for v5. The whole attitude of going silent and being mysterious is antagonistic and doesn't make sense if you're running a business to sell a product. If they were open source and giving it away I could li...

Ok. Normally I would agree with your comments, but a few beg for a reply (I promise not to flame or incite, only flavor it up a bit) I would be just as happy to see a 4.8 at this point. 4.7.3 has been around for a looooooooooooooooong time with respect to making small, incremental feature imp...
