Invalid keyboard bindings file
This is happening to me too, too often. Mainly, I think , when I try and replace a standard shortcut with my own. I thought it might be something to do with not having admin rights on my PC at my new place of work, so I used the 'Portable media wizard' to save my settings onto a USB, but it has happ...

Dual boot Win7 & Linux (Ubuntu), Wine, TP install
Waterpump, Hi, Yes, TP installs "perfectly", but are you sure everything functions just as well? I emailed TextPad support with a crash report created from an ubuntu install and they found the problem is that Wine does not support the Win-XML API which Textpad uses upon closing to create t...

Do you do anything 'fancy' or do you just use it in a fairly basic mode? As I mentioned in the other thread, I have imported over registry settings, macros and the like. I guess it something of the 'fancier' nature that causes the problem. Btw, the Wine website also notes the problem, though that sa...

Hmm, well, yes, you can get it up and running, but see my comments in this thread -

I know for a fact Helios won't port TP to Linux, but I have voted Yes because I would still like them to. If they could just advise the WINE team what Windows-ish system calls it's doing when you close it so that the Wine people can fix the only major problem I've found under WINE, that would be ace...

That's really a q for Helios directly (the support page). However, I would hazard a guess - Yes. But anyway - why don't you try and see? Take a note of your registration key (it's very big, I have mine saved in a text file - if you don't know it, you can request it again from Helios). Un-install v5,...

There is no CD, you just pay your money and get a license key to apply to your evaluation version - no re-install - so everything you've set up stays the same. There are other posts in these forums asking for more powerful syntax highlighting capabilities so if Helios are listening(reading) and you'...

The only way I can think of, not brilliant, is to include a $Prompt('Enter number of lines') tool-param macro - which you will have to fill in yourself when you run the tool. This then just becomes another argument to whatever executable you are starting. This is not something Helios are likely to i...

Too late for those that have already lost their settings, but for future reference, see here:- http://forums.textpad.com/viewtopic.php?t=9360 I do something similar to that in a periodic .bat backup in case (when) my hard disk dies. Don't forget to back up workspaces too, syntax files, and for those...
