That helped, and it seems to be working great now. I un-checked the "Word break at column number" box. Come to think of it, I had a nasty virus removed a few months ago, and that could have been what messed-up the configuration variables for Textpad in the registry. Thanks! That probably ...

Re: If anybody can tell me where macros are stored

Hi Y'all Would you object to me making a macro editor? Would you provide enabling information for my effort? Would you object to my giving it for free? (-_-) Hi OO That's terrific! Anybody here can tell you that we've been asking, begging, demanding, and pleading Helios for a macro editor for YEARS...

Click Edit->Insert->Files or press Ctrl+Shift+V.

Or you can do it without TextPad at the command prompt:

C:\> copy source1+source2+... destination

Andrew
Look at that! That's even better! :)

Re: Snarky

... In some respects I was happier when I thought TextPad was an abandoned product. If, on the other hand, TextPad is an actively developed product then I would like to know the author is supporting his or her customers in a manner similar to the way I would support my own. I am not demanding all t...

Macro Editor and Language

Hello folks! I must do this to the powers that be at TextPad every year or so. ===== Dear Programmer(s), Finally give us a Macro Editor for Textpad. While you're at it, add a built-in Macro Programming Language too. I prefer it to be VB flavored but I'll work with Java or C++ favored as long as I ge...

Editable Macros

It's the start of a new year. And even with the release of Textpad 5.0.3, looks like I have to repeat my yearly enhancement suggestion again. Please add editable macros! :) Also, if the macros would be programmable - in other words, based on a programming language like VB or C - that would be a big ...

Quick untested approach: Replace comma-space with \n to make one value in each row. Sort the single column Replace each \n with comma-space. For what it's worth, that was the method I used to sort a snippet of SQL code for someone else. So it does work. Then I found it was unnecessary if you includ...

The option to peek into a file rather than load it

There are times when all I need to do is inspect the beginning three to five lines of a file rather than load the whole thing -- just to see if the file has a file header and give me an idea what data values I'm getting prior to loading into my databases. In those cases I need TextPad simply as a fi...

Like SteveH said, "it is their business to do with as they will." So I'll stand by and wait like everyone else. I just can't imagine standing so firmly by a policy which seems to annoy (rightly or not) so many people for so long. Well, I don't like that company policy. Sounds arrogant -- ...

We have already stated in the General section of the Forum, that TextPad 5 really is being developed, and I can also reassure licensed users that current version remains fully supported. I'm glad to hear it. I thought that the developers of Textpad have gone on vacation and never came back. I start...
