The problem is not that TextPad cannot handle the UTF-8 encoding, which is a way of transmitting and storing the text of a document. Rather, TextPad cannot handle the Unicode character set, which is an assignment of numerical values to more than 100 000 characters. That is, TextPad can decode text ...

Editable Macros - Please!

My Nth annual request for editable macros.

("N" is the annual year number which I forgot what number I'm up to. But it has been many.)

Re: Unicode Support

Hi there. Today is the day that I was going to buy my license for TextPad. I would gladly do so, because I love everything about it, except...you guessed it, the lack of Unicode support. I really do not want to switch to another editor, but until this issue is fixed, I have no other choice. I know ...

Re: Unicode Support

Time for the 6th annual request for Unicode support in TextPad. As the world moves on, Unicode text is becoming more critical. I have just recently passed the point where I can deal with my need for Unicode using \uXXXX escapes; I now need my text editor to properly support and preserve Unicode cha...

I ran into the same problem late last year. I ended up writing something in Visual Basic to handle it. I would be curious to know what product you used if that path would have been easier - if you don't mind. Thanks.

Re: I just switched to Notepad++

I've been using TextPad for about 5 years and really liked it, but the UTF-8 problem sent me to a new editor. I had a problem with an exported text file from Vertical Response (mass emailing service) and then a problem using Drupal with path transliteration ... anyway, I started searching for what ...

Just checking the status of editable macros

Just as I figured as I browse the topics - ignored by Texpad Development, as usual.

Well, as a paying customer of Textpad for eight years regarding the same lament since year one, I think I have the right!

Re: Editable macros

For all those who bemoan the lack of editable macros, like myself, this topic has been around forever. I laud the offer of additional payment for development made in an earlier post, and which I also support. However, after researching the topic, the sad fact may be that regardless of all the noble...

Thank you.
My guess is to use a combination of your Window's built-in scheduler and Texpad's command line operators and options.

Not from within TextPad, but you can use a separate utility like HJSplit or Chainsaw , among others. Andrew My company's security software stopped my download of HJSplit because it smelled a trojan inside the package. So I downloaded Chainsaw instead. Just passing my warning to others here who may ...

By the way, Bob. I just realized something. Although you are the community board admintrator you have no access to the TextPad programmer and had to branch out on your own on this difficult project some five years ago? I'm shocked!! I'm curious - do you have any idea why the TextPad programm...

About four or five years ago, a group of about five of us started to undertake that as a project. We had made some progress, but ran into some roadblocks that really needed Helios input, but we could not get what we needed. I don't recall the issues that caused us to stop, but it seemed to be corre...

Editable Macros!

Just keeping the dream alive! :D

C'mon Helios! Just do it!

At the very least, add the ability to export the macro as a text file, we edit it, then TextPad can read the text file back as a macro.

C'mon, how hard can it be???

I just felt like adding my voice here, as I too would badly need to create something like a macro, just to aggregate multiple search and replace operations. I purchased both TextPad and WildEdit, and none has a simple way to performe a list of multiple search & replace operations. I don't need ...
