End of File, or EOF, is a concept or process--not a character.

Where did you find the reference to slash Z being EOF?

TP8 - Compare Files - Refresh

Doesn't appear to be any means of Refresh, other than go back and select the two files then CTRL-F9

Paypal doesn't cost you anything, only Helios, in this case. However, from the perspective of not having to deal with payment issues, it's probably worth it from Helios' perspective.

TP8 - Compare Files - Failed to launch help

In TP8, with the Compare Files tab selected, if I hit F1 I get "Failed to launch help".

Help opens just fine if I select Help, Help Topics from Compare Files.

Help also opens just fine if I hit F1 with a data file tab selected.

Restoring Key Bindings

I saved off my custom.bnd file, and then changed Keystroke Compatibility to investigate something. When I tried to revert back, it appeared that my custom keys were gone even though the custom .bnd file was unchanged. After rooting around in ConfigState.xml, and comparing to a backup copy, I changed...

If there's no backup settings in TP, then TP didn't back up your changes. Do you have some other backup method in place?

If you are upgrading to TP8 ...

... and you plan to keep TP7 at least for a time, you may want to open TP7 and remove your TP7 shortcuts (Configure, Preferences), then open TP8 and create your TP8 shortcuts. Also, if you used Replace Notepad in TP7, and you now want TP8, uncheck the box in TP7 and check the box in TP8. I have Auto...

Custom Key Bindings File Corrupted in TP 7.5.1 (64 bit)

I had this problem in 7.2 through 7.4, but I had not seen it in 7.5 http://forums.textpad.com/viewtopic.php?t=12595 Today, when I opened TP, I got an error message that the key bindings file was corrupted. I tried a previously saved copy of my .bnd file, but it didn't work. I searched for any .dmp f...

You might want to consider stepping into 7.5.1, latest version. It's been quite stable.
