Thank you for that tip on the <tab> key in the Search & Replace dialog. That worked.
And yes, when nothing is selected in the document, both inputs are selected. I must had something selected when I tried to replicate this problem.

TP 9.2.0 Two minor issues: Deleting files and saving documents.
I've noticed 2 minor problems in TP 9.2.0: When using the open file dialog box I used to be able to select files and press the <del> key on the keyboard to delete them. This doesn't work anymore. What does work is the "Delete" option in the local menu when I right-click the mouse. It seems...

Re: TP 9.2.0: Search & Replace
I cannot replicate this problem in TP 9.2.0. When I go to "Search" in the menu, and select menu item "Replace...", I get something like this: _ replace.png What does it look like for you? I do have to get used to tabbing twice to get from "Find what:" to "Replace w...

Re: Find in Files Results tab closes when search parameters box closed
This is indeed a new problem in version 9.1.
I don't find the dockable window a pratical solution. With the non docked results you have more room to show the results.
The reason we would want to close the dialog box, and keep the results open, is that the dialog box covers up some of the results.

version 9, problem opening multiple files
I'm using TextPad 9.0.1 on Windows 11. When I go to the "File" menu, select "Open....", and select multiple files, TextPad will only open up to 10 files . It then also opens one empty file with half a file name. This empty file is actually created on the hard disk. Can anyone els...

I just had a BSoD (blue screen of death), after which Textpad seems to have lost all its settings. It now looks like this: https://kikosoft.com/textpad2.png In other words: Completely different from what it was. However, now the problem I reported above is gone. So clearly it was somehow related to ...

BUG: File extensions trimmed in document selector (TP 8.2.0)
This seems to be a bug? When I press the SAVE button the file extensions get trimmed to the first character only. I'm using TextPad 8.2.0 (64bit) in Windows 10. It looks like this (all files are .php): https://kikosoft.com/textpad.png My suspicion is that the " *", which indicates that a f...

This is a long standing issue with TextPad. It happens because textpad tries to determine what the character encoding is when it opens a file. Whenever in doubt it uses ANSI, which is the default. Adding a BOM to your UTF-8 files might help, but that might not be practical. For instance, PHP doesn't...

Because Textpad still guesses the encoding when there is no indicator. That could very well be the cause it changes back to ANSI. I'll try out the BOM. I never used a BOM because in PHP you're not allowed to output anything before the headers, and the BOM does that. It used to be a well-known probl...
