When I load a large file (2,290,840,302 bytes) and then open the Properties dialog, the Properties window says that "Characters" is negative (-2007038244).

It would be nice if there was the ability to "pin" a file to the list of recent files on the File menu. That way, even if you open 20 other files, the file you have pinned is always there.
MS Word 2008 does this.

1) Right-click on the menu bar and select Customize....
2) Select the Commands tab.
3) Select the Tools category.
4) Under Commands, find External Tools and drag it anywhere on the menu bar.

I also would like this feature, but I don't think it needs to be a feature that you can turn off in the preferences. When TextPad recognizes text can be be folded, there would be a minus (-) sign in the margin. If you don't want to fold the text, just don't click the minus and change it to a plus (+).
